I have some good news
I have persuaded the farmer to let me buy Calvin from him. Calvin will live on the farm with me until he is older and then will go to a male dairy calf sanctuary that I am going to start myself. I know that they exist elsewhere but I feel we could do with one more. I have thought for a long time about making this work and have decided to secure a nearby field of around 6 acres to begin with. I am really lucky to know a local land owner who isn't using this particular plot and am going to do a lot of plumbing work for him around his estate to sweeten the deal. We have several sheep and lambs, a few chickens and soon a goat or two, Calvin will have a great time I promise.
It will be any day now that I get my own computer again and I will do the injections write up, I promise (Pam & Horsefeathers).
More details about everything to follow but I just had to tell you all as i'm so happy.
Be Back Soon

Thank you so much for all the hard work you have done for Clavin and not giving up on persuading the farmer. That is such wonderful news.
Wishing you all the best for establishing the sanctuary,

You've now saved his life - twice - he better be grateful
You can tell the farmer that you will be happy to save future calves with scours with the CDI injections (THAT CAN"T POSSIBLY WORK) . Maybe he will notice that the impossible is is fact happening.

New users needing inspiration on the performance of CDS / CDI / MMS protocols (and heroic investment of a man's time , effort, and determination) with a very very sick calf (20 % chance of survival as assessed by the farmer) should follow this one.

Another month without drgreen and reports on Calvin. I hope he and Calvin are doing fine and not nefarious interference from TPTB.

I have been searching the internet and came to this thread looking for CDS injection measurements for my polled hereford cow. She's about a 1000 pounds and is wasting away with scours. No deworming has worked. I've given the Sodium Chlorite unactivated in her food, but came across the conference where Dr. Kalcker said the cows can't absord the MMS through their stomachs. Injection needs to be our method, because she's not even eating what I'm putting out for her. The links you previously gave with instructions are no longer accessible. Please assist if possible.
Many thanks,
Kim

On the same page drgreen quotes Andreas Kalcker's basic CDI formula.I have a good quality digital PH meter and so testing the CDI accurately was no problem. It was quite a fluke really but I just poured out roughly 200ml of CDS and added 1ml of unactivated MMS (sodium chlorite) this tested at PH7.3 and then i left it in the fridge for a good couple of hours. Tested it again at PH7.0 and the next day just before using it had stopped at PH6.8
