I wanted to share my experience making CDS using
a jar and shot glass (instead of an open syringe) as a modification of the
latest CDS making method. I put 20 drops each of chlorite and citric acid
solutions in a shot glass and set that inside a 2 quart glass jar that had
4 ounces of water. I put the plastic lid on the jar and walked away leaving
it to react overnight. In the morning the 4 ounces of water had a yellow
tint. I removed the shot glass and there was a fog inside the jar so I quickly
resealed it and left it in the fridge. That afternoon I opened the jar, fog
was gone and water was a darker yellow-green. I put 9 mililiters of water
and 1 ml. of the yellow-green solution from the jar in a cup and dipped a
chlorine dioxide test strip into it and got a reading of 5000ppm. After adding
about 2 ounces water to dilute the CDS I got the desired 3000ppm. Next batch
I will use 10 drops each of chlorite& citric-should yield a 3000ppm CDS
without diluting and be even more economical.

HELLO, The answer to your question is to use the "100" multiplier. simply draw out 29 ML. of distilled water and 1 ML. CDS solution.... When your reading is "100" you times that by 30, and badda bing, you have 3000 ppm. WHY? you may ask... Because you diluted your CDS 1/30,, and 30 times 100 is 3000, 3000 PPM. I checked this with the pros at LAMOTT, I think his name is charlie, he set me strait.

Small Offline Senior Member Posts: 65 Thank you received: 15	I did 10:10 drops and 4 oz water and only got a 500ppm reading as in the 50 on the LaMotte reading 0 10 25 50 100 250 500 I will try the 20:20 as you did and see what happens, can always dilute it The following user(s) said Thank You: secretariat1844

Maybe I should use 10X as much chlorite & citric solution, but that makes me worry about blowing the lid off my glass jar. But then how much activated MMS was used in the original syringe method? Looking back, when I used 20 drops the resulting CDS solution initially tested between 250 and 500 before I diluted it. My confusion was in thinking I wanted to match the color for the 25 range. I want a 300ppm solution so next I will use a gallon jar and more drops of activated MMS. The following user(s) said Thank You: secretariat1844

MMS (Master Mineral Solution) is Sodium Chlorite 28% (22.4% Sodium Chlorite, 5.6% Inert Salts and the remainder water) plus an acidic activator (usually 50% Citric Acid or 4% Hydrochloric Acid) when combined produces Chlorine Dioxide.
