How to make HCL 4% solution (MMS activation) - Solution MUST be 4%

What is HCl ?
HCl is known as Muriatic Acid or Hydrochloric Acid.

Recommended approach :
Purchase a 4% solution from someone who knows what they are doing.
Stronger HCl solutions is dangerous stuff.

Precautions to those who know what they are doing and decide to dilute the HCl themselves:
Use gloves and eye protection. Make sure there are no bases in the area.


Example of how to make a 4% HCl solution :

• Buy 1 liter of 25% HCl solution
• Add distilled water. How much:

Divide 25 by 4 = 6,25
6,25 – 1 (HCl we had) = 5,25L distilled water to add

If that is not making sense to you, then find someone who can provide you with a 4% HCL solution.
(Do NOT use a HCL solution stronger than 4%, as anything above 4% is too strong - and very dangerous.)


How to activate MMS with HCl 4% solution :

• Use one drop of 4% ( pH ~0,1) HCl to each one drop of MMS.
• Add 100ml of water -- making the concentration as low as 0,004% HCl

The reaction time is approximately 30 seconds, depending on the outside temperature.


Can I use regular springwater to dilute the solution ?
You can but you should not, as the storage time will be decreased.


How will it taste like ?
A normal dose of MMS having been activated with HCL %4 solution will taste similiar to CDS.

I bought MMS 1 and MMS 2 along with the cirtic acid. The MMS 1 says it contains distilled water and 22.4% sodium chlorite (from 28% salts). I bought a quart. After reading this post now I have no idea what I have. I am glad I have not tried to mix it yet. What % do I have?

I've read your warnings and others as well when working with HCL and do take them seriously. I've been researching HCL online and I've seen concentrations ranging from 25-35%. If I purchase a product does it need to state that it is "food grade?" What is the best concentration to purchase?

Also, I'm not a technical person, could you tell me how to reach a 10% solution in very simple terms?

MollyB, you are fine. 22.4% is because the sodium chlorite that is used is technical grade, and it's actually 80% of the sodium chlorite flakes that you buy (the rest is other forms of sodiums, etc.) - so 22.4 is 80% of 28.0 -

The easiest way to get a 10% HCl is to purchase it from WPS4sale.com - they're the only people I know right now selling it.

THis can be pretty confussing please qualify.

As said above. acid into water. A little rhyme to remember the process : DO AS YOU OUGHTER, PUT ACID IN TO WATER.

I'm assuming they're shifting to 10% to MAKE CDS, but for MMS dosing still staying at the 4%. I don't know, of course. But I will say that even 4% HCl (making MMS) was a problem for me - probably because of my gastric surgery 10 years ago.
