Question about Calcium Hypochlorite dissolved in distilled water:

Were you speaking about CDS or MMS? The reason I ask is that CDS does not get mixed with the citric acid.

Do you ever shut your CDS still down? What's your production system? You're not making it in baby bottles like I am. Do you buy your sodium chlorite by the rail car?

Hi Martin. I bought a 25kg(5gal) pail of sodium chlorite and I buy distilled water in 4L jugs. I do the CDS right in the 4L jug. It lasts us about 2 weeks/jug

paul do you have any knowledge of how long you could keep the sodium chlorite in those 5 gal pails? would they draw moisture.
where can i buy the sodium chlorite, i want to compare my present source.

Hi Jim. Sodium chlorite is a salt and comes in a plastic bag in the pail - not much coarser than table salt . It seems that it might grab moisture out of the air (deliquescent) , so I take out 1/2 # or so at a time and keep the bag and the pail sealed, I don't see that it shouldn't last indefinitely kept dry.
