I am neither a chemist nor a teacher. I only like understanding things thoroughly.
By reading your message I simply didn't understand where the "nascent O2, and some elemental chlorine" were coming from.
Never mind and thank you anyway.

Can't WAIT to get the CDS process going. I bought some small bottles for distributing the two part formula among friends and family and I just bought a bag of the little suckers!! LOL! I guess I can pass them around with CDS in them, instead. They're pretty small though...
I read of some concern regarding using plastic in the process but I always just figured that the MMS would simply take care of any toxins that might leech out of plastic. I don't know that this is true, but I soak my cheapo plastic storage containers anyway and food seems to stay fresher in them. Again, I could be imagining that as I am just over the moon about MMS' qualities. I've always had it in my head that if it's yellow and/or I can smell it, then it's "busy" blowing up bad guys. LOL!
I'll probably use wide mouth canning jars with plastic lids and drilled holes, plastic tubing - probably a small hole for an orphaned glass dropper piece I found, for venting. I also use a lot of that self-sealing silicone tape so I'll probably try that to make little baby gaskets for the tubing (just because that tape is so dang cool!). I haven't used MMS with silicone or rubber before so I'll probably test that a bit, first. I've used just about every kind of little plastic thing you can imagine, for holding little two or three drop MMS1 puddles for gassing stuff, but nothing rubber.
Here's a tip: Save a plastic jar and lid (like face cream comes in) drill holes all over it and you can activate 2 or 3 drops of MMS, dip a tiny piece of fabric in it, stick it in the jar, put the holey lid on it and toss it in a trash bag with your pillows! Tie off the bag and smoosh the pillow and bag a few times then let it sit until it's spent and your pillows out smelling like...well...nothing! Fresh as a daisy!!! WAY cool!
I probably sound like a germaphobe but I'm not. I just love how MMS does its thing! Especially on odors as, I have a rather exaggerated sense of smell.
Anyway, can't wait to try the CDS setup!! VERY exciting!!!

Ah! Didn't realize I could "edit"!
I also forgot to mention that I cut up old socks to stretch over canning jars to keep light out. And, of course, I also have one particular jar that I use for H2O2 that is wrapped in - you guessed it - that silly self-sealing silicone tape. So, basically, it's rubber coated glass! That tape stuff is almost as cool as MMS!! And you don't have to get that expensive "Rescue Tape" stuff, you can get plain black self-sealing silicone tape just about any place they sell plumbing stuff!! Even Walmart - though it's often sold out there. Total light blockage!

I made my CDS Generator.
The result was over 500 ppm in 5 minutes.
The 3rd run was with 5% NaClO2 and 6.25% HCl. This gave me 150 ppm ClO2 in 10 minutes.
It seems that in the long run, while not the fastest method, the 5% seems to be the most efficient. 1/4 the actual NaClO2 content returned over 1/2 the amount on ClO2 as the MMS and citric acid. I'll be playing with this a few days, and I will try to get Some one on the Island to give me an idea of what the ppm range should be.
Holy crap this is professional looking stuff! how could someone like myself build this and where could I get the parts? ebay?
I know a guy who made some using plastic bottles in a kitchen sink. he said it took about 15 minutes to make.

Ooh! Good question. I've always wondered about sodium ascorbate - as opposed to ascorbic acid. I'm not sure how that reaction plays out...sounds like an experiment!! I LOVE experiments!!

How did you bend the glass tube? Can you explain in detail? I would love to try that!

OK, here's my thought... Check the ppm in a regular dose of 3 drops of MMS and 3 drops of 50% citric acid, and then check the ppm in your 1mL dose of CDS. You can buy chlorine dioxide test strips 0-500 ppm for around $10.
If you have a VERY STRONG CDS formulation, you may need less of it per dose, to get to the same ppm as "old style MMS" - or you could add more water to your base batch to dilute it. If you're selling it, the ability to dilute would certainly make it more cost effective.
These are just noodlings, and I may be making more work for myself thinking this way, but it's been something going around in my mind. For me, my concern was that I might have too few ppms in my CDS - just wanted to be as consistent as I could.

+1 to that, Pam!
