DMSO question..... was created by CTahoe
Thank you everyone for all of your help! In conjunction with my MMS I want to order DMSO but I've read on Amazon about numerous people selling DMSO that is industrial use only not for medical and anyone selling DMSO is selling it illegally....?

I purchased the MMS I'm using from a Keavy's corner that I was certain was on a jim humble ok, approval but can someone tell me what I should be looking for when purchasing the DMSO? Some buyers were saying the smell is distinct and others said people were advertising the DMSO as 99.9% when it was either 99.7 or as low as 70% when the buyer received it and inspected the label.

I also read DMSO is a magnet for dirt etc. so one should quickly remove the DMSO from the plastic bottle and transfer to a glass one or divide it up into several glass bottles to not dirty up the whole DMSO bottle ...?

Sorry, don't mean to sound like a paranoid freak here I just really want to do it as close to accuarate and good good results. Thanks to John D. and Pam I understand my diet protocol much better so this is the next question and I will give this another shot.

Thanks again you all have been so nice!!

Keavy is an approved vendor, so I think you can be comfortable with their product. Regardless of the percent (and I think it's 99.9) you will want to dilute it to 70% for external use above the body.

My DMSO came in a HDPE plastic bottle and I've put it in smaller HDPE plastic bottles for daily use, if that helps. Glass, of course, would be perfect.

Does anybody know why my DMSO (Nature's) change form from liquid to crystals (like ice)on room temperature!?

I bought one big bottle of DMSO (250ml, glass) from "Nature's", then I bought one small sterile glass bottle from local pharmacy, because is easier to handle with smaller bottle...
When I poured from DMSO bottle to the small bottle, I immediately noticed that crystals swimming in a liquid, but day after whole bottle was crystallized like frozen ice inside... Only warming of bottle can melt those crystals...
Liquid in a DMSO bottle remain the same, without crystals...

Small bottle is clean and sterile bottle from local pharmacy...

DMSO has a crystalization point around 67 degrees farenheit. To keep it liquid, you need to keep it warmer than that. Since my house is rarely even that warm, even in the summer, I usually have to put the bottle in a bowl of hot water.

Pam, Thank you!

I was afraid that something is melted from the bottle...
But it's weird that still is liquid form in the big original DMSO bottle, maybe due to bigger quantity in larger bottle...

I think its due to one being glass and one being plastic.
If I read right U have placed some in a glass bottle and glass conducts temperature more than plastic I expect the glass will "freeze" or solidy faster than in plastic.
I do have concerns about the glass breaking "IF" DMSO expands like water does when it freezes however looking at my "frozen" bottles of DMSO in plastic I see no swelling.

No! Both are glass bottles! That is weird!
Small bottle is complete in crystal from, big original DMSO bottle is completely liquid! Why, I don't know!
Also they are in same place more than two weeks!

It could be the volume - smaller amounts would transfer the cold easier, I would think - or the inverse, larger bottles would hold the heat longer, and if they were dealing with temps right around the crystalizing temp, it could make a difference. Just set the smaller in a little pan with hot water, and it will "thaw" - it will be fine.

One way of making sure of the quality is to request the seller to confirm Pharmaceutical grade! (Also quoted as BP grade)

They normally should be able to supply a copy sheet of the MSDS form.
