CDS strength was created by Liliana
Just making my first batch of CDS. How do I test the strength of CDS? We don't have Gatorade in this country. Do I use Ph strips? If so what should they read?
Thanks,
Liliana

Hi, Liliana. Congratulations on making CDS.. Without expensive equipment, it isn't easy to test an unknown solution for chlorine dioxide. Chlorine dioxide test strips are expensive and harder to find than Gator Aid. We don't know what country you're in as it's not included in your profile and we don't know what you have for supplies. Assuming you have 28% mms and 50% citric acid, you could consider this method:
Add 24 drops 28% mms to 24drops 50% citric acid in the reaction container and bubble into 1liter of distilled water.
Heat the reaction container in a hot water bath (saucepan on the stove) and continue until until the bubbles stop.
You will have made a 1 day supply of cds solution for Sacrament 1000.
Please feel free to ask more questions.

Thank you Paul. I have added my country to my profile.
I have successfully made CDS from 500 ml pure water, 50 ml of 50% citric acid soln, and 50 ml MMS 1. Just not sure how many drops of MMS activated MMS1 is equiv to 1 ml CDS. I am treating it as 3drops to one ml. ??

Hi liliana. I think you'll find that 20 to 30 drops makes 1ml. Do you have measuring spoons? It's very much dependent on the size of the drops.
At 50 ml mms1 you would have 1250drops. At 25 drops for a days supply, you have a 50 day supply in 500ml CDS, Therefore 10ml of your CDS would be a day's doses into however much water you choose. These calculations were on 25 drops /ml. If you find a different number of drops /ml by measuring, we can redo the calculations.
I think you had the conversion in mind:
1ml CDS @3000ppm = 3drops mms1
8ml CDS@3000 ppm = 24drops mms1 = 1day's doses
So it would look like you're just under 3000ppm 8/10x3000 = 2400
Well done! You have a 50 day supply at 10ml/day. Keep it tightly capped. - refrigerated if possible.

Using blue Gatorade, how many ml's of CDS do I mix with Gatorade to see if I have the correct strength of 3,000ppm of CDS ?
