That is the term used by the old nurse who said they "see" it all the time. Is there another name? All the signs and symptoms of a condition which can not be verified by the standard "tests" therefore does not exist and goes untreated as a general rule. How about this one...In the children's section of the public library I find a book on Indian Medicine Men. After the Civil War in the late 1800's some of the more "troublesome" Indian Chiefs in Oklahoma were rounded up and taken to Florida where they would be easier to deal with. They were extremely upset with one of their fellow chiefs who was back in Oklahoma still because he was considered NON troublesome. Mind you they were still travelling on their way to Florida when they "did their medicine" knowing full well if they did cause the death of another then they would die as well. The story goes that their brother in Oklahoma dropped dead as they were "doing their medicine" and they all died before reaching Florida. The story also goes that on their death certificates you can read that they "died of natural causes".
