I have had this book for years and have visited her herb farm. An amazing woman. If you are into herbs this book is undoughtedly the best by far in the world for herbs.
In it she says that at one time in Europe a man severly inflicted with Arthritis would visit mud baths and wallow in them for some releif. His whole body was swollen and crippled. One day while in the mud naked he noticed stinging nettle growing profusely nearby so he picked some branches and begab to beat himself for some time. From that he got a fever, going from hot to cold. the pain was excruciting and lasted several hours. Finally he went to sleep. To his amazment when he woke the next morning his fingers were no longer swollen and there was no pain in his joints. WQhen he urinated it was like the blackest coffee. He never suffered from arthritis again. He lived for 25 years after that. She was told this personally by this mans son. Nothing in her book is mentioned useing stinging nettle for itching and rashes
