Lorisands Topic Author Offline New Member Posts: 9 Thank you received: 4	I purchased a lot MMS a few years ago and kept in in a basement fridge that is seldom used. How can I tell if it is still effective. What will eventually happen to it. Will it no longer react when mixed with citric acid? Or will it simply go bad and not be safe to use?

Does keeping MMS in the fridge shorten the shelf life? Should I take them out (I still have a few bottles in there) and put them in my pantry or is it too late since they have been in the fridge for years.

MMS (Master Mineral Solution) is Sodium Chlorite 28% (22.4% Sodium Chlorite, 5.6% Inert Salts and the remainder water) plus an acidic activator (usually 50% Citric Acid or 4% Hydrochloric Acid) when combined produces Chlorine Dioxide.
