1/3 of 1/8 teaspoon?!?!? Calling all math majors. was created by cary7777
Ok the math has gotten to me - ref: Newsletter 2/6/12/Baking soda ----the paragraph that talks about 1/3 of an 1/8 of a teaspoon for every additional drop of MMS. I use a four drop mix instead of a 3 drop mix (because I can multiply by 2s) Is 1/8 of a teaspoon still ok or should I be counting specks of baking soda to get to that 1/3 of 1/8? I like the idea that the baking soda makes it work better and because I use lime juice I don't mind the taste but we have got to do something about this math! Maybe there is a math major out there?

Or, Mickey - in another thread - suggested some measuring spoons that will give you teeny-tiny amounts. You can get them from Amazon - however, they've got cutsy names - dash and smidgeon and so on. Mickey gives you the actual amounts in that thread.

Why don't we make a sodium bicarbonate solution of some standard strength, and administer the baking soda in drops like the MMS1 and activator?

That seem sensible. I don't think it's subject to degradation once in solution. If the goal is to keep the final solution at 5.2ph, we'd probably need to do some testing on how much to use to compensate for 2 drops, 3drops, 4drops, etc., per hour in a quart of water.

I own these spoons and find them very helpful...
Right here's the link:
Amco Measuring Spoons for Small Amounts
www.amazon.com/Amco-Measuring-Spoons-Small-Amounts/dp/B000MOYI5W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1328640433&sr=8-1
A reviewer says:
"I measured how much these actually are, and found out that these spoon set is: 1/8tsp, 1/16tsp, 1/32tsp, and 1/64 which is wonderful for extending my normal spoon set to finer measurements."
