The only glaring difference is the air pump WAS NOT on the lowest setting
The was no hard gas smell but I was wearing a 3M mask.
The reactor solution was a dark brown color starting...light yellow when finished
Distilled water was used in all areas.
The finished solution color is almost a dark yellow.

Counting those drops gets old....will a ppm test with just 1 drop solution to 10 drops DW work with the test as it is still a 1 to 10 ratio(or any 1-10 ratio)?

I guess I will run it again with the pump on low. So you think the gas is just blowing out and not taking? I know color is subjective, but the dark yellow should mean something....or not.

Pam, when using ph strips to verify the parts per million. my strips indicate 1 to 10. do I multiply this figure by 100 to get the strength and are we looking for parts per million for chlorine or are we checking ph level?
thanks
Roger

You don't use ph strips to measure parts per million, as I understand it, you use chlorine dioxide measuring strips. Two different animals.

I just tested the solution again after 13 hrs in the fridge...just very slightly darker than 100 with 25 drops of made solution and 250 drops distilled water.

Vector, do you not have a 1mL or 3mL syringe? I get mine at the farm and pet store - find I can measure a lot easier that way. Just remember to keep them separate - ie, CA separate from MMS1, and a final MMS syringe, and a CDS syringe. (so, I have 4, for obvious reasons - but I also dose my cats) -

LOTS easier to measure in ml's - just remember that 24 drops = 1mL - so if you're doing the older 1:5, it will mean adjusting the activator.

Not sure what you just said about adjusting the reactor. I thought it was 25 drops=1ml(do you think the extra 10 drops would make a big difference). However: I just infused the receptor chamber again...3.7 grams of both CA & SC in 3 tsp of DW, No syringe yet so to test I used 25 drops of solution to 250 drops of DW= almost no change/ maybe just over the 100 shade. I am following directions on the test strips. So far this is 11.1 grams of material for a PPM of maybe 1000. Something is bad wrong somewhere.

After about a minute in the reactor chamber, the mixture of CA & SC is a dark brown color and after 5 min, with air pump set on low, the reactor mixture is a light pale yellow. All chambers are plastic water bottles. I did not wear the 3M mask and notice no overpowering smell.

This may be operator error...though not sure how.

Any ideas?
