Hi I just joined and read your post about "Protocol Starting Procedure". I am on day two of protocol 1000. I have late stage chronic Lyme and am looking forward to feeling better. Anyway, I started the with 2 dps 8 x a day and had no problem what so ever, so the "starting procedure" doesn't seem necessary for me. Am I making a mistake not following the very complicated starting procedure?

Hi, well I don't know, seems to me that it is a lot to start with 2 dps. This is your 2-nd day, only second day. We are all different but I started having nause and headache after a few days of 3 dps/h and I went through starting protocol and then 1drop for a few days, then two and 3 drops. I had to cut back and I am still on 2 drops. Just like Jim Humble says "more does not mean better" (or something like that) I know we are all impatient, we desperately want to get better but it is not so easy...I absolutely know this is the right path but it requires a lot of patience and discipline . I don't know if you can see the very helpful replays of other users to my post, but I would slow down a bit, starting procedure is not complicated! Good luck.

Gordon, you may be able to tolerate 3 drops of MMS1 per hour after a short time, but not everyone can do that.

When you mix your MMS1 doses, is the color yellow, then amber before you add water? If so, then your MMS and activator are working properly. If not, then something is wrong.

Thanks for all the responses. Day two I did 2 dps per hour for 7 consecutive. Today I am aiming again for 2 dps per hour and have take 45 does so far. I don't want to jump to conclusions but after two day, I woke this morning feeling better than I have for months. I was alert and didn't curse the day or wish I was dead. Also my burning sensations and joint pain upon rising was improved. I just bough Kerri Rivera's book and plan to do her protocol. In the mean time I will go slow, as you all recommend. I plan to do the start up procedure starting tomorrow. Thanks

Gordon, I am not sure if you have to go back to starting procedure after already taking 2 drops/h for 2 days. My thought is - stay on 2 drops but if you start feeling nausea or headache or other problems that are new just cut back to 1drop/hour . Well at least this is what I would do. You are lucky already feeling better, I can't say the same but I strongly believe it will come.

Just heard a report from a friend that someone in Germany has "hit a wall" and needs to reduce dosing. She was improving using MMS1, but now has major Herx. She will have to reduce dosing and slowly increase when whatever CLO2 found is gone.

The Herx reaction is caused by a buildup in toxins inside your body. Think of your body as a tub with the faucet open, and the toxins as water. If the water flows out quicker than it goes in (i.e. your body's detoxifying paths are healthy and the rate of the die-off is slow), no problem. If if is not the case, the level of water inside the tub will slowly rise until the tub overflows. Then, as ClO2 said, you hit a wall and have to take it down a notch, until the level of toxins decreases to a more manageable level.
To add to the difficulty, the rate of die-off in Lyme is not always dependent on the dose of MMS you will take: Lyme and its co-infections tend to work in cycles, and at a time only a portion of the pathogens might be affected, and this portion varies. So the same dose might not have the same effect depending on the day you took it.

Gordon, my advice from experience would be to be wary of the 28-days threshold. It seems that about a month after starting a treatment (be it antibiotics, plants or MMS), many Lyme patients tend to make a violent Herx reaction if they stay on the same dosage. Again, many doesn't mean all, but with Lyme disease it pays to be prudent.

Guess what - last night, after 3 days (day one - 3dps 4x, day two - 2 dps 7x, day 3 - dps 7x) I herxed big time!!!! I know I shouldn't of stopped but I did for just today and will start tomorrow again on the "start up protocol", I've herxed plenty of the years and don't need to feel any worse than I already do. First timer mistake! Funny thing is, I actually felt better right away (days 2-3), maybe it was just wishful thinking and over zeal.
Thanks
