Hi, just sharing my experience with protocol 1000 plus. I've been on it since past Sunday, so for 4 days. Everytime I try to build up my dose of MMS to 3 drops per hour I get nausea (after a few days or a week of being on 3 drops) sometimes even headache, so I reduce the dose back to 2 drops and it seems to work. I assume that this is my body trying to tell me to slow down a bit. Another thing, and I wonder if anybody else has experienced this, I feel totally exhausted in the afternoon, I am done for the day at 4pm. I've been low energy person for most of my life (probably having Lyme and not knowing) but this is something completely different, this is pure exhaustion (after not doing anything special durning the day). Another thing is rash, small patches of itchy, bumpy skin that appeared in a few places on my body(since I started MMS)- anybody has/had that experience ? Is this maybe my body detoxing? Thanks for any comments.

You are ramping up to 3 drops per hour too fast. Please slow down! :woohoo:

I bet you did not begin with the Starting Procedure , either, did you? :(

Herxheimer/detox in action.

I absolutely did begin with the starting procedure, I guess I am not ready for 3 drops yet. I will continue 2 with DMSO. Is exhaustion part of Herxheimer/detox? Thanks

A friend of mine was stuck at 2 drops for about two weeks.

I am on day 3 of the Starting Procedure and having Herx symptoms, too. :( Tiredness, headache and general unwellness. Tiredness seems to be the most common symptom reported. Its been a while since I have taken MMS and my body is not happy at the moment!

Thank you for replying, it is very important to know how other people react, sort of reassuring and motivating.

The following is from Jim's latest book:

If you take too much MMS1 and have a serious Herxheimer reaction, (nausea, vomiting, excessive diarrhea) take Vitamin C as an antidote. Take 2 grams (2000 mg) of Vitamin C at once. If the symptoms persist, you can then take another 1 gram of Vitamin C the following hour, and another 1 gram the third hour. Do not go over this amount of Vitamin C. Two other options to use as an antidote would be: Eat a fresh apple. Take 1 level teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda in 1/4th of a cup of water. (Drink a few more sips of plain water after this if desired.)

Lyme is a very enduring disease, and most of the time, when symptoms start to become a hindrance, the pathogen load is really staggering: it is not only Borreliae, but also some heavy metals, coinfections and probably some candida that add to the load. So it takes quite some time to get rid of all of them and the increase in MMS dosage must be very slow. Sometimes you have to tone it down for a time: Lyme has cycles of approximately 28 days (usually, varies with individuals) and the same dose taken at a low or high point will not have the same consequences. Also, most of the pathogens are expelled through the liver and bile, which are rapidly compromised by Lyme. A thorough liver cleansing might help you get to the next level, but you will still have to be patient: chronic Lyme usually loosens its grip after a year of treatment.

Best of luck to you, you are on the right track but there are still bumps ahead.

Thank you so much for your reply. Yes, this disease teaches us a lot of patience and self discipline, but knowing that you are on the right track gives hope and strength. So I assume that those itchy patches on my skin are also MMS-detox "side effects" , I couldn't find anybody describing that symptom. I do have a Lyme rash on my leg, but this is something different that appeared after I started MMS. Thank you.

Those itchy patches are quite common past a certain stage of Lyme disease (at least in Europe). So I guess that they would have appeared anyway had you not decided to start a treatment: the toxins liberated by the Herx are wreaking havoc on some nerves that where already damaged by the disease (peripheral neuropathy is the scientific name, I think). Do not worry, like everything Lyme-related, it is reversible.
Last bit of advice: Borreliae hate the heat, so saunas, hot baths and the like can really help you through the worst episodes. For me, hot (41°C) baths laced with MMS really took the edge off this disease.
