Inlinced Bed Therapy consists of raising the head-end of the bed 6 inches (15cm) or more by placing a 6 inch item (books, bricks, etc) under each foot of the bed's head-end and thus put the bed in a 5 degree angle. When sleeping on an inclined bed, you are making use of gravity (or rather; Gravity of Life - information below,) to significantly improve the circulation in the body. Andrew K Fletcher, discoverer of Inclined Bed Therapy, argues that sleeping on a horizontal bed, or sleeping horizontally in general, may actually cause harm.

I, my son, and a friend started this IBT about 4 months ago and my son's back is so consistently better ( he's a stonemason ). it took a few days to get used to an inclined position but would now i would never go back to sleeping flat. looking for gradual health improvements as the months go by, esp circulation, digestion etc.

Go for it, fourfingerz. It's most probably worth the sacrifice.

My son is 40, here's an update after 15 months IBT. My son has not had any back problems since starting this, whereas during the previous 6 years he lost a lot of time off work thru injuries and spent a lot of money on chiropractors etc.
His skin and eyes look good too, and he is now taller by a fraction under 1 inch! think of the benefit that nightly spinal traction is bringing him . . .
Swith to an inclined bed, its a no brainer.

Well my water bed is a distant memory now.
I started on Sept 6 2015 with an incline height of 6 " at the head of the bed, shortly there after I changed to a raised height of 7". That puts me at just over 12 weeks inclined.
Observations are:
- While in bed my legs and feet feel warmer than previously
- I am more aware of dreaming
- I was diagnosed with a hiatus hernia years ago which effects swallowing liquids sometimes and occasionally while sleeping (on a level bed) I aspirate up, entering the lungs. This causes a spasm which stops the ability to breath - at all!! I have never lost consciousness - but during the episode one does review one's existence - and what come next
Anyway I've had no problems with that since inclined. But no I'm not going to have an x-ray to prove the hernia is gone (if that can happen).
I will continue IBT.
