I finished making CDS following Dr. Andreas Kalcker's 2-step process. In the 2nd step he calls for letting the jar and residual in the shot glass sit for 12 hours. I let it sit for about 15 hours. I noticed when I took the shot glass out of the jar, it was still creating gas for awhile. But maybe it's because I was outside on a sunny day (but I was in the shade), or maybe I let it sit too long in step 2, or maybe that's just what it does...?

Always best to put it in the fridge once the "baking" is done before you open the jar, to ensure as little gas escapes as possible. Outside fridge is good for baking, but not good once it is done.
Andreas doesn't do this in his video but people have since learned this.

Speaking from experience, I’ve mixed many batches using the “canning jar / shot glass” method, gas bubbles are evidence the batch is not completed, which can go past 48 hours easily at room temperature. Shining a flashlight through the solution can make things more pronounced.

Yes, the finished batch in the fridge is what I’ve done, the colder temperature means less evaporation when the container is opened.
