For those of you who may be shy (like me!) to ask the following questions:
What is DMSO?
Is it Dimethyl sulfoxide ?

What is DMSO? Is it Dimethyl sulfoxide ?
Can you only buy DMSO from farmers?

Michael was kind enough to answer me in a p.m. i had sent him and so i think he won't mind me sharing his response.

"Yes that is what it is; here is a good place to get it
www.herbalremedies.com/dmso-16-oz-.html they do international. I think you are in Canada?
Feed stores often have it because they use it with horses. Otherwise, health food stores if it is legal where you are."

Thanks Michael for your prompt response!
I couldn't find any info. about it in Jim's second book nor in this forum.

Perhaps people can share with what they know about purchasing it in other countries.

Yes, i am in Canada for now, but i've been traveling quite a bit and will be looking for some in Arkansas pretty soon.

Whenever you obtain your DMSO... make sure is from reliable one. There are grade for Pharma and industrial (may contain serious toxic if overdose and can be fatal)

Secondly.. know the strength of your DMSO. For non sensitive part.. your skin can withstand until 70% concentration DMSO. For sensitive part of the skin like face or soft skin area.. try make the strength less that 25% concentration. To adjust the strength, simple add clean or distilled water.

after using for few day... look as if the skin is too dry.. if that the case... wait and use aloe vera or high moisturizer creams to heals it. Once healed.. you can resume your application of DMSO or change the area of application.

Thanks Edwin for your comments on this from an international perspective. Has the "solvent grade" DMSO caused problems in Malaysia? If it is labeled solvent grade and coming from the USA then it should be safe. Find out what athletes and horse trainers are using there; they are big users of DMSO.

Here in the US I have not found any sellers who label their DMSO as pharmaceutical grade; sellers label it as, "This product is intended to be used as a solvent only" or "Not for Medical Use" or "This product is sold as a solvent only" and it is good and safe to use. That is what I have been using. It is labeled this way because of the FDA in the USA. Feed store here has it in a plastic jug labeled as solvent; planning to buy this next time I go there.

Here are sources in the USA that I have used or had recommended:

www.dmsouse.com/Store/ DMSO glass, 70% with honey; website says, "not industrial grade" but that is not what is on the bottle.
www.myvitanet.com/dmsoliq70con.html DMSO glass
www.jacoblab.com/ glass or plastic; manufacture their own DMSO but not labeled pharmaceutical.
www.dmso.bz/pages/2/index.htm Albert’s 25 yrs DMSO use

DMSO is sold in glass or plastic bottles; glass bottles are best but it is a lot more expensive. I have purchased it both ways.

We do have a folder with some excellent articles about DMSO here on the Forum genesis2forum.org/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=showcat&catid=39&Itemid=66.

in malaysia it is hard to differentiate the pharma or industrial.... but i used characteristic of the solvent to determine equivalent..

physical characteristics include: molecular weight 78.13, melting point 18.3° C, and a specifc gravity of 1.096.

This is the grade i used matching the grade from Rimso-50 DMSO. I have used it orally without any problems.

there is a suspect point that the industrial grade may contain heavy metal toxic that are dangerous but if we use it with MMS, it should not danger it as MMS1 could neutralized heavy metal toxicity. The caution would be when used with other mixture but as a general advice... find the grade that is suitable is best....

Sue, the post you responded to was written over 2 years ago - If you click on Edwin;s name, it should give you the last date he was on the forum. Just so that you have an idea of what the likelihood of a response is.
