However, if stored in a HDPE plastic bottle, you may experience leakage in a matter of months. Glass would be the best choice for a container. But wouldn't the formation of white flakes just mean that the sodium chlorite is becoming crystallized once again so that all one would have to do is to reheat the solution to dissolve the crystals once again, similar to what you can do with crystallized honey to dissolve the crystals?

I have tried what you mention, it does not work as thought... also to be found less effective and taste differently as well, since it is not sure, it is advice to change to new ones.....

Unless other chemist can reaffirm this matter.

Okay. I think I'll give it a good try with one of mine that has formed a lot of crystals and then report back with what I find too.

It should be noted though that even the 25% sodium chlorite that I buy from Merck comes with crystals or something that looks like crystals already in the solution (they settle to the bottom after the bottle has been sitting for a day or so). This is lab analysis quality stuff. So I don't think the forming of crystals necessarily means what you have is bad. Probably the best thing to do is make up a batch of CDS or CDH and then measure the ppm to see if it reaches what it should reach (3500ppm for CDH).

For your information, the one that i brought freshly made, first 5 to 6 years does not formed this white flakes... and i notice such flakes exist after 7 years or so if not mistaken.... when making into CDH it look fines, using it does produce results, but due to my own experiences, i found that the effectiveness does reduce at some point, anyhow it is all thru feel and experiences and is not the FACTS.

Since MMS is not very expensive stuff, i believed having good quality one does make a difference.
