I have a question regarding making CDS.
I am making it right now with the shot glass inside a container.
the shot glass is very small but high and I put 5ml of MMS and 5 ml of HCL 4% in it yesterday around 1700hrs.
it is now 1400 hrs and it is still brownish inside the shot glass but the water is already very yellow.
i put 250ml of water in the container.
I know the video states to do 2 times 24hrs with 5ml each.
it is kind of cold in the kitchen where I make the solution and I was wondering how much this could affect the reaction and reactiontime of the 2 components.

UPDATE: almost 24hrs and still brownish/red in the small shot glass. it is nice sunflower yellow.
I am going to let it sit for another 24hrs.

You can make Quick CDS in about 3 hours time.

yes I know. I was just using the older technique because I have everything to do that.
but it is slower than I had seen on the video you shared and also it is very yellow after 24 hrs.
I now put in a bigger surfaced glass and after about 1 hr it is almost very strong colored yellow already.
I will wait until the activator is the same color as the water around. I doubt if I have to do a second round of activation because its so strong colored yellow.

Lower temps definitely slow the process. 70 and above seems to work best for me

Yes, we used to make it that way many years ago, but we stopped because sometimes the setup would explode, which happened to me. That is why I developed the overnight methods including the dual infusion method when using 4% HCL, that Andreas shows in his video.

See attached PDF file showing the dual infusion method. The file is on my website, which is where Andreas found it.

ok thanks, good to know. I dont want explosions in my kitchen thank you!

well I now did a new batch with a bigger glass this morning in the cold kitchen and it looks like it is ready and very well saturated.
I am going to do a 2nd time anyway just to see the difference with the first batch color-wise.
is there a maximum saturation in ppm cause I dont want to overdo it.
thanks in advance

update: seeing your pdf helped me answer that question to. thanks
