I have done so far 5 CDS batches. No problem with 4 of them but thr 5th one is challenging.

I bought a new brand but I used it once already to make CDS with no problem. It took 24h for the first saturation and 24 for the second one. 

Not I'm making a second jar of CDS, as the old one is losing potency and colour, and it's been taking more than 48h. In the morning it'll be 72h.

So this is the second batch with the same product, that worked with the first batch. 

I use the same jar, the same water, the same cupboard, the same product (the second time). What changes is temperature: it's warmer, and light - it's brighter outside. 

I put the jar into that cupboard as 4 times before and after 24h the shotglass was still very brown. Attached. 
I thought it was sth wrong so I poured it out and started again. I changed the  cupboard for a wardrobe. Again, after 24h it was the same situation. Dark brown in shotglass, light brown water. I started a second batch in a different jar that I also used before with no problem, same wardrobe as batch 1.

I let both jars stand.
Batch 1: No smell of gass coming out. After 48h the brown started getting lighter and the water was getting more yellow. Ive checked it after another 12h (that's 60h) the colours began looking almost the same. 
Batch 2: no smell, The colours dark brown and bright yellow - just like batch one after 24h. 

What is taking so long? I keep both parts (sodium chlorite and Citric acid) in the fridge. Can that be the issue? But it didn't matter with the other brand I had and it didn't matter with this brand I have when I used it the very first time. It's taking a week to make one jar! 

Keeping SCS and CAS in the fridge will cause their temperature to fall to about 40F or less. At that temperature, activation will be slower. But, something else is not right. Twelve hours should be enough for activation to complete. This new set of SCS and CAS may have problems, since your previous batches of CDS seemed normal. 

If the citric acid solution is 50%, only one infusion is needed to make 3000ppm CDS. However, the recipe changes. 

500ml capacity container. 
250ml of CDS water. 
12ml of SCS + 12ml of 50% CAS in the shot glass. 
One overnight infusion. 

If you want to make 3000ppm CDS in about 3 hours, let me know and I will tell you how to do that, using the same containers you are now using. 

"...as the old one is losing potency and colour." Are you storing CDS in the 500ml container in a fridge? I would suggest to instead to store CDS in 120ml bottles full to the top with no air in the bottles. Should keep its potency for months. Use up one 120ml bottle of CDS before dosing from another bottle.

As you say, it must be something wrong with the parts... I bought one new jar and I took the new one and one old with me when I went to visits some friends. It's been 3 days now in new environment and the fuilds in the shot glass are still very brown in both jars... So one jar new, one old, new environment, same products. 

I'll try to complain to the shop I bought it from but it might be difficult...

You have purchased 25% Sodium Chlorite Solution (SCS) and 4% HCL. 

Two infusions will be necessary to make 3000ppm CDS using the containers you have. 

There must be a problem(s) with the two ingredients you have purchased. Try buying from another supplier.
