Older small male dog with anal sac disease...oral syringe of CDS.

In the past few weeks we've given him oral syringes of CDS as a kind of enema in his bottom on two occasions. On both occasions hard poo came out the following day and his anal sacs shrunk noticeably, whereby he was able to sit down on his behind again—which he had avoided previously. One treatment did more for him than the vet was able to. The issue is sometimes worse for him than others, now and then making it difficult for him to poo and sometimes difficult for him to wee.

The main issues we have:
Don't know the protocol for this.
I don't know if this is the best approach.
My dog doesn't like the experience and I feel it's stressing him because he has no idea what we are up to.

We tried to splash and pat CDS diluted all over the outside of his bum yesterday, but we don't know what good this is going to do.
Can we give him CDS orally and is it likely doing so would help his anal sac disease?
If we were to give him CDS orally what dose should we give him? Should we use an oral syringe?

I heard we can give him drops of HCl at 4% in his drinking water bowl and that his stomach acid would take care of the rest. Is this true? If yes how many drops? If not, what might you suggest?

Jim doesn't use CDS in any of his protocols, so if you found a CDS protocol that seems to be working for your pets anal problem, keep using it. Are you diluting CDS with water? Is your CDS 3000 ppm CLO2 concentration?

Yes, you can squirt some diluted CDS down his throat. Perhaps diluted 1 part CDS to 300 parts water. If no problem, then decrease dilution.

Always start low and then slowly increase. That way you won't cause rejection by the patient.

Possibly, if enough pathogens were killed by CDS to leave behind dead critters that needed to be eliminated.
