Now this workings every time! I weigh the water then the powder, and slowly pour powder into the water stirring!!!

That works! Using weight, you can always be sure it's 50%. Another option (since water and CA weight very close to the same) would be to measure (volume) the water - say it's 1 cup. Then you take a dry cup measure and put a cup of citric acid powder into it, and tamp it down (very important) - add it to the water, mix and voila. I tend, also, to use a glass pot and to heat it a bit to help the citric acid dissolve.

I know the current protocol is to use the HCL 4% mixture, but I have food grade citric acid here at my house, so I'll be using it.

jmac Offline Elite Member Posts: 171 Thank you received: 139	I use 50% citric acid for making CDS, but I use 4% HCL for making CDH and MMS1. The liter bottle of 50% citric acid I made more than 6 months ago is still as potent as ever.

MMS (Master Mineral Solution) is Sodium Chlorite 28% (22.4% Sodium Chlorite, 5.6% Inert Salts and the remainder water) plus an acidic activator (usually 50% Citric Acid or 4% Hydrochloric Acid) when combined produces Chlorine Dioxide.
