Hi Orv & Bruce,
I apologize for taking so long to get to this. Partly I wanted to think about this situation since there is a lot going on here.
If I was concerned about infection or even having a lot of pain, then I would be going to protocol 2000 and adding the MMS2 also, like Bruce suggested. Both MMSs work differently and you never know which could help the most in your situation.
Orv I do not know if I have ever had diverticulitis. I have suffered from a lot of gut pain, feels like the whole GI tract, for the last 16 years though. And I have especially had a lot of pain in my lower (sigmoid) colon, which then has caused a great deal of low back pain. The sensitivity in the lower colon was so bad that I could not hold the MMS1 enemas at all when I tried them a while ago, even with just straight unactivated MMS1.
However, now that things are starting to calm down in my colon because of getting on the bag protocol (
genesis2forum.org/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=28&id=3054&Itemid=66) and the brown rice diet (
genesis2forum.org/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=2&id=3016&Itemid=66#3048) and getting off the gerson protocols, I have been doing the MMS1 enemas for several days. I do think these MMS1 enemas are helping my colon even more than the MMS2 enemas (
genesis2forum.org/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=28&id=2473&Itemid=66) were.
Jim’s instructions for the MMS1 enemas are to use the same as your oral dose, to add 1/2 cup of water and retain until it is all absorbed and to do them up to 2 times per day. It is too hard on my sensitive colon to use an enema that is this concentrated, so I instead do MMS1 enemas like the gerson method, where I use a pint of water and hold it for 12-15 minutes ideally. Most times I have only been able to hold 3-5 minutes but it still seems to have a very beneficial effect. Jim said this also to go ahead and do them even if you can’t hold for very long. Sometimes I can only do 1-2 minutes.
Jim also says to use water enemas once or twice beforehand just to get cleaned out. If I do that my colon gets so irritated I can’t hold the enema at all, so I don’t do this.
They did a study on the gerson enemas and found that the vast majority of beneficial substances were absorbed within 10 minutes, so the gerson advice is to hold the coffee enemas for 12-15 minutes. They also advice using 1 quart of water and “Lying on your right side, draw both legs up close to the abdomen, relax and breathe deeply.” They don’t advise high enemas and say to insert the enema tube 5-8 inches into the rectum. I did the gerson enemas twice a day for 15 years and ended up using 1 pint of water and eventually lying on my back during the retention.
I do think Bruce’s suggestion to do enemas will be very helpful to you Orv, and like I said earlier the MMS1 enemas seem to be doing a lot of good for my colon. My colon does feel irritated for about an hour after doing one of these enemas, but I still think there is overall healing taking place which I’m excited about. I would suggest starting only with low enemas like Jim and Gerson say at first and see if that does what you need. If your lower colon is super sensitive like mine, then you may want to do the MMS1 enemas gerson style like I do, otherwise go ahead and try what Jim suggests. If you feel that high enemas might help then you just thread the tip further up into the colon. This might help you depending on where your problems lie.
Jim says to do the enemas up to 2 times per day, but if they seem really helpful you could easily do more. On full Gerson therapy they do 4-5 coffee enemas per day.
Orv if you feel the need to flush your GI tract out then you can take castor oil by mouth according to the Gerson protocol. It is like roto-rooter for your guts and cleans you out usually within 5 hrs of taking it. I did that 3 days a week for 15 years because of the relief it gave and kept things flowing when I was on the gerson juicing therapy. Juice therapy makes me get really constipated because of the toxic bile coming out, so I needed the enemas and the castor oil by mouth. If you want to do the castor oil, let me know and I’ll give you the instructions for it.
Let me know if you have any questions Orv,
Michael
