Looking it up on the web, there is one forum that discussed the fact that it was still good at 4 years - (someone jokingly said that they could dig it up in 1,000, and as long as it still smelled like synthetic garlic, it would still be good, LOL)
DMSO is considered fairly stable, your should last quite some time.

Thank you, Pam
And you don't have to keep it in the fridge, right?

Hi Veronika,
I have not checked into shelf life, but it does seem to last a very long time even at room temp. If you refrigerate pure DMSO then it will freeze, it freezes at 65 deg. It takes a while to thaw too. If it is a 70/30 mix then it won't freeze in the fridge.

Hi!
I have a question about DMSO 70%. A batch that I ordered some time ago froze in the fridge. Does this mean that it indeed was not 70%?
I ask because I recently received a new delivery of 70% DMSO that does not freeze in the fridge. Are there any special signs by which to tell good quality DMSO 70%?
Thank you for any feedback.

DMSO will "freeze" at any temperature below around 65 degrees. What you threw out may not be bad. I'm thinking that because what you have is only 70%, the added water is preventing it from "freeze"

Thank you. I'm interested in the result (whether it freezes or not) because the first batch I received was reportedly 70%, and it did freeze in the fridge!

I don't remember if it froze the first time I put it in the fridge, but from your answer I understand that there is no reason to complain to the supplier about the new batch of 70% that doesn't freeze. Thanks for your input.

There's a wonderful book "DMSO, Nature's Healer" - it's written by Dr. Morton Walker, I strongly recommend you get it.
As I understand it, you add the water to the DMSO. You might want to do the mixing in a glass container. The water should be distilled.
