HCl is not easy to measure with syrnges. I think weighing it is a better option. My question is simple.

My stock HCl is of 30-33% concentration. In this case, what is the ratio ?

I mean for each 100 ml. how much grams will I see on the kitchen scale ?

In the past there were calculations on 37% HCl. Now that I'm totally confused, I need a clarification

Or in other words, is there any formula to obtain %4 HCl out of 30-33% HCl..

Thanks for the help.

Use 4th calculator down the page. Measure HCL with a graduated cylinder.

Weigh water with a scale. 1 gram = 1ml of water

Thanks for the reply :)

Water is not a problem to weigh. My question was in fact about the weight of the hydrochloric acid. How many grams of HCl would make 100 ml. of HCl. ?

Max's recipe to make 4% HCL from 37% HCL is:

15 grams of 37% HCL + 107 grams of water

37% HCL weighs 1.185 grams per milliliter
15 grams ÷ 1.19 = 12.6 ml of 37% HCL (round up to 13 ml)

Add 13 ml (15 grams) of 37% HCL to 107 ml (107 grams) of water = 120 ml (4 fl oz) of 4% HCL

Look up the weight of your HCL concentration "Hydrochloric Acid Solutions in Water" in the chart at
