My question: I mixed some CDS about three days ago and did not stabilize it. If this is necessary, can I still do it after three days? What is the importance of stabilizing?

pam Offline Platinum Boarder Posts: 4593 Thank you received: 3703	Personally, I can see no value in "stabilizing" CDS - you're just adding unactivated MMS back into it, and as Andreas says, you end up with MMS. You can add MMS to CDS at any point - I would test the existing MMS with test strips to see what the ppms are - it keeps for some time in the fridge away from light (UV).

MMS (Master Mineral Solution) is Sodium Chlorite 28% (22.4% Sodium Chlorite, 5.6% Inert Salts and the remainder water) plus an acidic activator (usually 50% Citric Acid or 4% Hydrochloric Acid) when combined produces Chlorine Dioxide.
