CDS - Long Term Storage was created by JB13
On 3 January 2013, exactly 6 months ago, while testing yet another batch of shot glass/over night CDS, I put 1 liter of 2200 ppm CDS in a recycled tall glass olive oil bottle and capped it with a silicone tapered plug, and forgot about it.
Today I discovered it and decided to measure how much of the original 2200 ppm was left.
To my surprise today it measures 1500 ppm. So, the CDS retained 2/3 or 67% of its original 2200 ppm ClO2 concentration.
That is impressive, but I what didn't mention is that the glass bottle was not kept in the fridge; it was in a bedroom closet at room temperature!
Must be the original "stabilized" CDS.

It has now been one year since this bottle of CDS was made, so it was tested today, again.
The result is 1150 ppm.
Original ppm = 2200
6 months later = 1500
12 months later = 1150
The CDS still has a yellow color and the usual CLO2 gas smell.
And still has not been inside a fridge.
This will be the last test as I needed the 1 liter glass bottle yesterday, so the CDS is now gone.
The bottle again holds Organic Olive Oil.
