We have a Jersey X cow (Annabelle) with mastitis - it's a pretty bad case as she must have carried it over her dry period even though given the standard dry cow treatment. We have had the vet out and she has antibiotic treatments IM but the teat was going cold and the vet told us we would have to cut it off if that happened as it would be going gangrenous.

We started injecting 2cc's of CDS mixed with DMSO into the teat canal with a canula and the temperature is now normal plus she seems to be feeling better - we thought we were going to lose her this morning as the antibiotics do not seem to have worked.

She is not out of the woods by a long shot but the CDS has saved that teat.

Mary

That's great news!! Annabelle is lucky to be with you.

I saved a Highland cow with mastitis at the start of this year with oral doses of CDS and then later a mix of MMS + CDS. She is wild (unused to human handling ) so injection was not an option (without a traumatizing fight). I mixed it with soaked alfalfa cubes.

I posted several reports on Neula (the cow) - just do a search for "neula"

Please could you let us know how Annabelle is progressing with your treatment. I am very interested in her progress as my neighbour is a dairy farmer and is interested in CDS. Thank you so much
