Pam just made 3 batches of 8 oz bottles of distilled water today and the first time with the diffuser. Five min. after the defuser started bubbling it stoped but the reacter bottle was still cooking so I tested the cds with gatorade and it only took about 3 sec. to turn color. Isen't that kind of fast ? so I put another 8 oz bottle of distilled water down and put the deffuser in it and it started bubbling but for only 5 min also and didn't get as yellow as the first bottle and the reacter still had quite a bit of color in it. So I started a new fresh reacter and same everything happened. I then took all three and mixed them together and tested and it looked like it was about 6000 ppm or 3 sec. using gatorade. I bought five defusers I guess I won't need them, oh well. My question is if you don't need deffusers and its easy enough to make 6000 ppm batches with just regular ends of the hosewould it help to use air pump line in the reacter with pump ? And what size of air pump would that be ? Orv

I was going to order one of these as1 diffusers. I thought they were stone or glass.I cannot see plastic doing the job.I have a single glass or stone diffuser when I purchased an ozone machine from Sota Industries many years ago.The bubles are very small. I was going to use that to make CDS in a glass cylinder 45 ml wide x 170ml high. 13/4 x 14 inches. I figured the distance the gas has to rise through the water height I may not need more water bottles. Can only try. But I have as yet to receive my CD test strips.

Hi Pam
Ozone will destroy low grade plastic and all rubber. that is why good quality Ozone generator use in them only silicone and never rubber for their air pump and tubing (this is why i used from the beginning silicone tubing for CDS) and air stone that are made to stay good forever.
I think that air stones made for Ozone will be great for CDS.
For those who are using air pump for making CDS and want to control the air flow without buying more expensive pump with air flow control , you can buy a small Air valve at any aquarium store (it is very very very cheap
)
