With my experience with a number of discussion forum software packages over the years,
I would say "Probably so".
For something like a forum, I don't think it really matters all that much.
They would never do that for banking, CC, other financial, etc., though.
It's kind of "old style" stuff. I would bet that most newer software doesn't do that anymore.
