CDS and DMSO

I used CDS on open breast cancer wound but only once as the pain was unbearable and lasted a couple of days. Has this happened to anyone else? It looked like it was forming a scab which was a good sign but I would need a seriously strong pain medication to carry on. Pain is probably like Bloodroot over a large and deep area. What do others do about severe pain?
