Hi everybody ive been using MMS1 for the past 6 years, and just recently when activating the solution whether it be a 15 drop solution or a 4 drop solution im getting no gas upon activation but the solution is still activating and going brown and still tastes the same as years gone by , and we are still getting the benefits from using it.
The solution is from Eden health products and i am using a %50 citric acid solution from the same company.
The solutions are about 9 months old and have been in the fridge since we brought them.
My questions are :
Do you think the solution has weakened dramatically over the past 9 months, to the stage where i need to put more than a 1-1 activator in it?.
If so will it make a big difference if i put lets say 4 or 5 drops of activator in it than i need.
So instead of a 5-5 solution i try a 5-10 solution. Will the extra citric acid upset the stomach or will it do nothing.
Or is it that the citric acid has weakened over the 9 month period and not the purification drops? in which case more citric acid is the right approach.
look forward to your input as i still have 3 new bottles left in fridge that are 9 months old .
many regards and happy health to all
Arkwood.

Hi arkwood

MMS has a shelf life of 7 years.
But you can add an extra drop or two of one or the other and chase ideas.
If you're not tired of the taste....

If you have LaMotte high range chlorine dioxide test strips, you could test an hourly dose. The reading should be about 25ppm when 3 drops of SC plus 3 drops of 50% citric acid are activated for 60 seconds and then added to 4 fl oz of water. Mix throughly before testing.

Hi thanks for your advice i have the test strips at home and will test the activated solution.
I still have one question not answered though.
Does the solution have to produce a gas when its activating as mine isn't anymore this is what is puzzling me. Over the 6 years of using mms i have always produced the gas when activating. even when i make cds i used to produce the gas but cant anymore, like i said but still turns brown and activates.
look forward to any reply's By the way to the rev ray we can stomach the taste no problem have done for the 6 years our mouths must be made of asbestos hehehehe
regards

As to the smoke.
I also see it at times smokes and does not.
Sometimes is darker coloured than other times.
I don't think it's critical it smokes.

Asbestos was something I didn't try n the days I was trying to mask my taste buds from MMS.
Thanks for the tip

Hi arkwood,

When you say you're not producing gas - what observations lead you to that conclusion?

When the acid is mixed with the sodium chlorite - clo2 is produced as you've experienced in the past. If the solution temperature is above 11 C the gas will evaporate out giving the chlorine type smell.

If your solution is above that temperature, it turns brown when mixed, I would say that you've got to be producing gas - but I'm not a chemist.

Put a mix in a small bottle, put a deflated balloon over the top - if it inflates - your producing gas

Try activating in direct sunlight and look for CLO2 gas.

Or, activate 3 drops out of sunlight, then put in direct sunlight. If the solution is in a tall container, the gas should be contained so you can see it. Keep flame away as it could ignite. I guess if it did ignite you would know CLO2 gas is being generated.

Another way is to pour some MMS/CDS/CDH into a tall clear bottle like a baby bottle, then pour out the solution and cap. Put in direct sunlight and see if a cloud forms in the bottle. I bet it will and quickly.

Here I activated 3 drops of SC with 3 drops of 4% HCL and placed a 2 fl oz glass baby bottle on top of the shot glass to act as a lid. Then shined a LED flashlight into the shot glass from the left side. ClO2 gas cloud formed in seconds.

thanks for the picture jb13 Perfect that's what mine used to look like with the cloud of gas, but now no gas but its still activating like yours nice and brown . It just baffles me about the non existence of the cloud, but i still get the smell and the brown liquid plus the smell, like i mentioned in my first post i maybe think that my acid solution has weakened over the 9 months and i need to activate with more acid , when i get time over the next couple of days i will mess around with the solution and see what happens and will post my results . I appreciate everybody's in put up to now :)
many regards and happy weekend from Australia
