Hi,
I want to use mms for a mouthwash to cure my gum disease. I read somewhere to brush and rinse with it after every meal. My question is when using it on skin, mouth etc.. would any vit.c or anti-oxidants weaken the mms?

I also read protein weakens mms, true or false?

Just to clarify, any substances which interfere with mms should not be taken within two hours of mms. I'm asking because, some people have questioned how long certain substances last in the body, is two hours across the board sufficient?

I also read food in the stomach doesn't weaken mms very much, true or false?

thank you-Lila
p.s. I'm a vegetarian but I respond very well to mms. I do account for potential deficiencies though, and I take probiotics.

If you have antioxidants in your mouth at the time you are doing the MMS, you have the potential of weakening the MMS. MMS works by oxidation. Antioxidants are, by their nature, "against oxidation" -

Protein does not weaken MMS - protein has nothing to do with MMS. Protein supports our immune system, which is what ultimately returns us to health.

Do not take your MMS and your food at the same time. Try to give yourself at least 30 minutes between eating and taking your MMS. If you are doing a high anti-oxidant meal, consider allowing more time. MMS stays in the system 1.5 to 2 hours.

thank you for the prompt reply. just to make sure i've got it right. even if i am using mms as a topical mouthwash without swallowing, i should be sure i don't have anti-oxidants within two hours before or after?

and just so you know, and maybe i will find the link to this, there is a researcher that wrote a page about foods to avoid and included protein on the list.

how can we double check what is legitimate research on this?

also, i was wondering about food that is high in anti-oxidants. not concentrated food like green powder but, dark beans which are high in anti-oxidants.

I think you can use it as a mouthwash, and not worry as much about timing. Be sure you are not making it with alkaline water or using it with alkaline water - If you've drunk coffee or some other high alkaline beverage, I would be sure your mouth was rinsed out before taking the MMS as a mouthwash.

The researcher was obviously not correct - as far as MMS is considered.

If you wish to follow Jim Humble's work and his research, I'd look to him or his work, for information. There is a ton of disinfo on the web. You can read some of the more recent "Jim Humble answers his critics" posts that have recently been posted on the forum here - as well as the post I made about how to recognize a disinfo agent -

thank you for that. when you say alkaline water, you mean water with a ph above 7 right? we have well water, but i've never measured the ph.

i will check out Jim Humble. I will admit that I do take it with a grain of salt because, I remember that his recommendation about the mouth, teeth, gum mms recipe does actually seem to hurt my tooth enamel, but he claims that it will not. I'm actually doing a modification based on the testimony that using vinegar to activate doesn't cause issues, and so far i have found that to be true.

Typically, alkaline water is produced through an ionization process - rarely do most people have wells, like you and I have - So most people will purchase a machine that makes alkaline water.

My well water is slightly alkaline, also (Maybe 7.2?) I've not noticed an issue with water at the level mine is. However, I have a very small amount of iron in my water - so I don't use well water to make my MMS or in the daily bottle. I use distilled water.

Re: your teeth - we are all different - it's hard to say what is causing problems with MMS for you - it may be something with the citric acid. Maybe the vinegar is better for you. Whichever you use, you do need to rinse your mouth out after brushing.
