When directions for making MMS states...."Cover the MMS solution and place in a dark place, allow it to sit for at least 6 hours"...does the "cover the MMS solution" refer to a air tight cover like a plastic wrap, or a cover in the fashion of a plate to stop debris from entering?

Sorry vector, did not understand what are you making.
To make MMS1 you just mix the ClO2 and the CA and leave for 20 sec or up to 2 mins to activate (just short intervals) but you are talking about hours...
Please clarify.

Vector, if you're making CDS using the floating reactor method, the cover should be tight.

If you're making MMS and just allowing the undissolved solids to fall out, then you don't have to worry about tight.
