No, different companies have different things in the 20% left over. Those things should not be detrimental to humans, since SC is approved to be used on foods without rinsing. As with anything, some are better than others.

Then it's a crap shoot? or are the manufactures with the least bad stuff in the 20% known so we can make sure we get the best we can.

I think it's more important to know and trust your distributor. S/He will have a sheet that tells them what is in the other 20% -

Thanks Steve, you sound like a man that is knowledgable about sodium chlorite...

I have a hot tub (spa) and I know I can use sodium chlorite (non activated) as the sanitizer and maybe be better/less harmful than the di-chlor I use now, do you have any idea how much should be used per gallon and how often it shold be added?

can't you just use sodium chlorite (un-activated mms) or does it not work as well or can't you test the chlorine level?

Are the sellers of any chemical/sodium chlorite required to provide you with a copy of the certificate of analysis and manufacture? It sounds like the Spainish stuff has less junk in it and the China has the most...go figure. I certainly would like to be using the best quality available.
