Hello fellow MMS-ers
I had my blood test yesterday for PCR and IgG for HSV.
There is a lot of confusion within the medical profession. When my partner did his first IgG test it came back positive for HSV-2.
However, the Dr (a different Dr) told me that the IgG will detect a past infection and not the type and the PCR with determine type 1 from type 2. I thought HUH. I thought the IgG could determine type 1 from type 2, hence why my partner IgG came back as type 2
We trust these people and yet they give us conflicting info.

Delite - best wishes for a negative result!
What happened with your partner is confusing, this is why I keep asking questions about testing...
In my case, the first test was a "culture" test of an ob, along with a confirmatory antibody IgG blood test - which told me at some time in the past i was infected. At that time 2005 - PCR blood test was a newer test, but I guess the doc felt he'd go with the older above tests.
Now, after the protocol is finished, when I go for a PCR blood test, there will be no "culture" test as there will be no obs - otherwise i won't go - knowing the hsv2 hasn't cleared.
Now i know why i wasn't tested for hsv 1 - likely because the antibody blood IgG test doesn't detect it and the doc figured the majority of pop. has it - why bother?
Thanks for shedding some light on my situation Delite.

@Research.
I am confident that both myself and partner will pass the PCR test. My main concern is the IgG results BUT it will confirm if I have been exposed OR exposed AND infected.
Whatever the result, I will still continue with MMS and DMSO
All I can do now is sit it out for the results.
