I just got my first shipment of sodium chlorite powder.I was wondering if anyone can advise how to store it. and how long it's safe to keep it.I'm not clear about how inflammable the powder is.
Thanx

The 80% sodium chlorite powder or flakes has, basically, 20% salt (sodium chloride) added, in order to make it safe to handle. I have read several estimates of how long you can store it, but if it's kept cool and dry, I would hazard that it will store indefinitely, many years at a minimum. Without the application of energy in the presence of other chemicals to react with, it shouldn't change significantly.

my 2 cents,
Bruce
