Anyone using CloSys mouthwash and read the ingredients? I want to make my own solution of this stuff. I use it in my waterpick machine. I was thinking maybe we could duplicate this and make it up ahead of time with MMS and have it be stable??? stable may be the trick. How long does activated MMS keep in a sealed container?

CloSYS™ Antiseptic Oral Rinse contains: purified water, trisodium phosphate, stabilized chlorine dioxide and citric acid.
CloSYS Flavor Control™ dropper contains: Natural mineral oil and peppermint oil.

You see stabilized chlorine dioxide and citric acid in this stuff!!!

so it appears they are using sodium chlorite and activating it? then it appears this is in a alkaline solution trisodium phosphate (TSP) which is known to be a water softener used in dishwashing detergent and a food preservative.

A few questions.... "stabilized" chlorine dioxide appears to some patented process... so they claim. so how do they stabilize it? in the solution of TSP?

Chlorine dioxide is made from the Sodium Chlorite when you add the citric acid but it is unstable i have read. so when you add the TSP would this make it stable? But then wouldn't it return it back to Sodium Chlorite? since the TSP is alkaline.

I guess what is this so called "unique, patented Chlorine Dioxide System" they state on the product, which i have in front of me right now. Also states; "Mild pH balanced formula". and "designed for dental irrigation devices".

I read here that some just use the sodium chlorite and allow the acid in your mouth activate it. but the TSP addition and the ingredients of Closys interest me as I want to make this solution up ahead of time, say 32oz bottle and use when I need it. Gotta be a way.

How long does activated mms stay fresh in a sealed container?

I suppose if I made up some unactivated mms and used alkaline water or maybe this is where the TSP come in? it would stop the sodium chlorite from activating rather than using regular distilled or purified water, which is acidic, right?

then you would use the acid in your mouth to activate it?

Don't know, just some random thoughts, anyone have any ideas on how to make a batch up ahead of time like this?

if so what proportion for a 32oz bottle?

I was thinking of adding DMSO to the solution as well? good / bad?

PS: I have been using MMS1 & MMS2 for the last 4 weeks to fight off Candida overgrowth.

I bought a waterpik waterflosser ultra from amazon several weeks ago and I use it after every meal. It works really great because I have holes in some rear molars and this cleans things right out. Teeth have never felt cleaner.

I go through a lot of water when I'm using it so I don't want to have to go through too much trouble in preparing it. When I remember I do put a squirt of unactivated mms1 in the water container. I think the acid in the mouth will do the activation.

I have read posts in mms groups saying that clorine dioxide from activated mms is hard on at least some types of plastics. DMSO dissolves or affects many plastics too except for HDPE. I don't know how to 'stabilize' and I don't know what the TSP would do.

So just to keep things simple and easy I just use a squirt of unactivated mms.

In a sealed container activated MMS1 should last at least 1 week.

If you figure out something good, let us know.

As I've said before, I'm using a mouthwash of activated MMS1 and DMSO on a fairly regular basis, and it's completely changed the state of my oral health. I was using just MMS, but adding the DMSO not only takes the ClO2 deeper into the tissues in my mouth, but it "took the edge off" the taste for me, too.

The recipe is: 6 activated drops MMS (I'm currently reducing the amount of citric acid I'm using to 2 citric to 3 MMS and activating for 30 seconds), add 2 tbsp. (30ml) water and 12 drops DMSO. Swish around your mouth for 1 minute.

My sweetie makes 1/2 batches with 1 tbsp. water.

My teeth are now about as clean as when I leave the dentist's after a cleaning, no plaque at all.

When you speak of "drops" of DMSO, what are you using to get the drops? I purchased DMSO in a glass bottle with a screw type lid, not a dropper type lid. I have never used DMSO and apologize for a most likely silly question but not understanding the "drop" method of DMSO!

I got a dropper bottle to put some DMSO in. I'm not sure how the size of the drops compares with my MMS dropper bottles, which is one of the downsides of the "dropper method" of measuring. But it makes metering drops of DMSO easy.

Drops of DMSO are also useful for simply applying DMSO topically on skin and mixing batches of MMS with DMSO for topical application.

I would like to try that formula. It is amazing how some things seem so difficult to prepare yet has all the answers.
I guess that is why Jim is getting lots of people signing up for the course.
I would like my teeth and mouth to have a good oral cleaning.

I have used DMSO in my mouth before. I would use it full strenth and swab it on my gums with a cotton q-tip. Only problem is I could not do this even the night before going to work. My breath was pretty strong and terrible from the DMSO.

Do you have this issue. What kind of DMSO do you use?

Well, the amount of DMSO absorbed in a minute or so from 12 drops in 1 oz of water would not even be CLOSE to the amount absorbed from full-strength DMSO swabbed directly on the gums.

My sweetie doesn't appreciate DMSO breath at all, so I try to use the mouthwash early in the day. The DMSO we have is 99.8% pure, veterinary grade, but I suspect the smell of all DMSO is pretty similar smelling. Even at its WORST I don't think your breath can be as bad as someone with halitosis (just a guess).

I haven't had a complaint yet except from Cynthia, but then most people are too polite, perhaps.

The DMSO will probably affect your breath no matter where it's put on the body, as it goes directly into the bloodstream. I often use a dozen drops or so on my hands for arthritis, and Cyn hasn't complained yet...

One can only wonder what Dr. Stanley Jacob's wife thinks of his breath, as he drinks 1 oz (2 tbsp.!) a day, every day.
