On a separate forum, I posted the following:
Diatomaceous Earth is a natural organic pet wormer and livestock wormer.
PLUS, DE is a popular natural dietary health supplement for pets and animals.
FOOD GRADE DIATOMACEOUS EARTH IS NOT FOR SALE IN THE STATE OF TEXAS FOR LIVESTOCK OR PET FEEDING.

A fellow poster answered thusly:
WE gave this "Organic" concoction a series of fair trials and the response from the University of PA Vet SVChool (via our farm)
It doesnt work at all. Its just another hype for a product that seems to hve some natural design that would make it effective/ Its not, its junk, its hype by the organic mafia

And so I invite anybody with firsthand knowledge to tell me of their experiences. And not just with animals, but people too.

Firstly, I've been using DE for over a month now and the results for me (and my Husband!) are nothing short of amazing. For one thing, our eating habits have not changed, yet we've lost a few pounds. The DE appears to be somewhat of an appetite suppressant, we eat less and are completely sated.... which I consider to be a good thing.. lol

Secondly, VERY healthy bowel movements

Thirdly, My skin has dramatically improved... it feels dense, supple and soft.

Fourthly, no more 'athlete's feet' in this Family... finally, no more. Our feet feel like silk.

My Husband and I are astounded by how much better we look AND feel just by implementing DE in our wellness protocol. I can truly say it will forever be in my arsenal of "must haves" :P

Sounds like this dude, in the post above, is one of those who thinks GMOs are better for you, too. He appears to dislike anything "organic" - There's absolutely no data given in terms of what the Vet college was looking for - so his whole post just reeks of troll.

I use DE in my chicken coop to help with the mites, and take it myself as part of the parasite protocol. (Effective against worm eggs) - the silica is excellent for hair and nails - our soils are very depleted after years of factory farming, so we don't get as much silica from our food as our forefathers did.

this may sound like a dumb question, but i purchased some diatomaceous earth, and am confused as to how much to take..u said every 4 hours take a tspn of it with my water? ni am trying to do this to kill my intestinal roundworms...any help would be nice..thanks.

Yes, I have a shot glass that I use, and I add an ounce of water or so and a tablespoon of the DE. I stir it and then just drink it. DE is good for getting the eggs, but maybe will not get the roundworm itself. (per kerri) That's going to take some different meds. Be sure the DE is food grade.

The man who posted the put down of DE has been an online friend of mine for about a decade. He is both a farmer and a scientist. He is actually a very nice guy. But, he thinks because other "scientists" put down alternatives, the case against it is proven. In this he is not very scientific, in my opinion. But he is no troll in the ordinary sense. He only responds to my crazy notions now and then and moves on.

I am about to buy some DE, because I am having a hard time ridding my dog of parasites.
