I'm not clear on how to test CDS strength. Help?

You need the 1-500 chlorine dioxide testing strips (not chlorine testing strips) - they're made by LaMotte and not always easy to get - I order mine from Amazon - also W.W.Grainger has them, but usually it's a special order.

Take 1cc of the CDS and 9cc of the distilled water. Mix. Test with the testing strip by the directions on the package. Multiply the findings by 10. (if it tests to 300, multiply by 10 to get 3000)

If it goes to 500 (the top of the scale) you can't count on 500 - it could be higher. Then take 1cc of the CDS and 19cc of distilled water, mix, test with the strips and multiply the result by 20.

When I did my HIGH TEST CDS (12,500ppm), I think I had to do it by 60.

If you look around, Michael was saying that he found better (more reliable) testing results using a higher dilution testing - i.e., 1mL to 60 (or 59mL) of water. I sorta go by both the testing strips and the color. Use the color as a backup. I've done so many 6,000ppm batches, I sorta know what that color looks like - so if it is lighter than that, I know it's less -
