I've had a small 0.5 cm ganglion cyst on one of my fingers at the top joint for years without swelling or discomfort. About a week ago it started swelling up. It is now about 1 cm in diameter and 0.5 cm deep - the actual cyst may still be 0.5 cm with the swelling mostly liquid. Outside the cyst area the entire finger has swollen up about 10% with slight pain, discomfort on squeezing at cyst and slight increased pinkness at cyst and top of finger. Doctor has scheduled minor surgery in a week.

How can I reduce swelling and discomfort topically?

How to use mms, dmso and H2O(distilled water)
There is contradictory info on dmso. Does dmso reduces strength and effectiveness of mms?
Is dmso mixed into activated mms or applied to skin prior to mms application?
1xd, 2xd... or HR, 2xhr?
5 or 10 drops activated mms + 0.5 or 1 teaspoon dmso with or w/o 2 or 4 oz H2O?

Would appreciate answers ASAP.

thanks,
john t

I can't say why it started swelling now - I have had ganglion surgery on a finger - had it years ago. I also had another ganglion cyst that eventually went away on it's own.

DMSO, in the skin application is applied to the skin after you've applied MMS in the topical spray. The topical spray is 8-10 drops activated then placed in an ounce of distilled water in a spray bottle. It can be kept in the fridge or a cupboard - just away from UV light. MMS is applied first, then DMSO is dropped on or sprayed on, on top of it. You may find the 99.9% pure to be "too strong" - cause irritation - in that case, rinse it off. Then dilute the DMSO to a 70/30 mixture with water and apply that. Apply with a clean finger. Do not apply with a latex or rubber glove, as they are actively affected by the solvent qualities of DMSO.

DMSO will inactivate MMS over time, but not for the period you are using it. You can do it 4x a day, or hourly if you feel you need it.

Squeezing the cyst will, of course, cause it to become irritated and possibly swell - it sits on a nerve (which is why it's called a ganglion cyst) -

There isn't a specific protocol for ganglion cysts - as we both know, MMS works primarily with pathogens - but it also can help inflammation (depending on the cause) - Basically what I've given you is the skin protocol with the DMSO on top - DMSO is good at getting the MMS deeper into the tissues, and since what you have is pretty close to the surface, this would be a good way to get it there.

Just remember that if the DMSO irritates the skin, then to dilute it. Also,if you have any liver disease, it's best to not do DMSO - or to test it first.

I had a ganglion under my middle finger knuckle at the palm on both hands last year.

For a while I got worried because they seemed to come out of nowhere.
When I held onto power tools, I started to feel the pain from them.

I sprayed my palms with MMS1 kind of frequently and also used DMSO a bit.
I think I used MMS1 more than the DMSO only for convenience.
It took a couple or more weeks. Not too long, but not right away.

Then I noticed they we much reduced. I still can find them by feeling, but they don't bother me.

Thanks. With your prompt response and that from Pam, I will continue topical application slightly modified. The pinkness, swelling and discomfort have decreased. I expect in a few days all symtoms will be gone. Will report on progress.
