I found the answer to my question on another post. Boy do I feel sheepish. Now I realize that
this happened because i keep my CDS in a dropper bottle. The black rubber bulb from the dropper is exposed to the CDS and is breaking down and getting into the solution.

Other poster said: "I have tried eye dropper one and two ounce bottles for storing activated mms in the refrig. and the rubber/plastic bulbs on the ends deteriorate and add black particles to the dispensed solution."

Yes. The HDPE bottles with the squeeze dropper tops seem to work a lot better, Penny.

I'm actually really glad you decided to post this ~ because I do have some MMS in a dropper bottle with the black rubber bulb, and I wouldn't have thought about it if you hadn't posted. So, thank you! : )
