I remember when you were first starting to explore this - did it finally work for you, RR?

Hi Pam.

Not yet but I am a little closer. Hopefully soon.
Wud appreciate any help.

Very difficult to get flakes here and the powder is much harder to do. It would also help if our currency was a bit stronger and the postal service a bit better. Ordering from abroad u just not sure if u will get it.

Thanks

If I knew enough to be able to offer help, I certainly would! I think it's a grand endeavor.

read old chem books. sometimes a chem process is very dificult or impossible to do at home garages but this is only with the "modern chem science". sometimes in old books the process is easy with no dangers.

well, if you can't overcome the demented capitalism political system "join it" :D
how? i think in brazil exist many uses where is necessary SC... for water purification in little comunities, for animal clean, for streets of fabelas clean...

builda a ONG, and you get the SC for free, if the army, the gov, the chem industry of brazil... not cooperate with this good cause start a "join venture" with a european, canadian, usa... ONG asking for help to clean the water of the jungle people of brazil... really brazil not be able to provide you with some kg of SC for this GOOD CAUSE??????? :

i think lula da silva are interested in the health of brazil's people, the actual 1 minister also, no ? OF COURSE THIS NEED SOME SOCIAL IMPLICATION FROM YOU.

what use all these ONG's and "missionaries" for disinfecting the water in rural africa ???

Hi RevRob.

I am a newbie to the forum, and was just poking around a little when I saw you asking for help with some electrical supply. I have studied power supplies for a long time and may be in a position to help. I note that you mentioned a potential higher than 6 volts will more likely produce "ate" rather than "ite". As the difference between the two is, I beleive, one of electrical charge polarity, I need to know what type of input energy you have there? I think Brazil has 240 volts, but not sure, if that is indeed where you are. Next, are you clipping this to 6 volt ac or using a rectifier to convert to DC?

I would be more inclined to alter the power supply rather than use HCL to convert the Oxygen atom's position. This would be safer and more able to be widely used by others.

Let me know some info, and I will be happy to try and help.

Trodan, you might want to send RevRob a private message, too. He's been really busy working on a meeting in South Africa, so he might not get back in time for it to be readily visible in the Recent Topics area.

the water you put salt (NaCl) now missing only the O2 ... read this ... very easy
If you do not have clearly got a lot of tips on google

Pour 3 quarts of water into a wide-mouthed, heatproof glass jar or glass beaker and heat to just under boiling.
2
Add the 1/2 cup of salt to the water; continue heating the mixture until the salt is completely dissolved. Remove from heat when the salt is dissolved.
3
Sharpen both ends of the pencils until you have at least 1 inch of exposed lead on both ends.
4
Attach the wires to one end of each pencil with the alligator clip. Make sure the clip is only gripping lead.
5
Tape the cardboard to the mouth of the glass jar or beaker.
6
Punch holes in the cardboard an inch in from the sides of the jar. Insert the ends of the pencils without the alligator clips into the holes and push into the jar until the exposed lead is submerged in the salt/water mixture.
7
Attach one alligator clip to the negative terminal and the other alligator clip to the positive terminal of the battery or the solar panel. This provides the electrolysis which turns the NaCl to NaclO2. Wait at least 16 hours before disconnecting the electrolysis.
8
Disconnect the alligator clips from both the battery or solar panel and the pencils. Remove the pencils and cardboard from the glass jars.
9
Line the funnel with a coffee filter and place in the plastic container. Pour the salt/water mix through the coffer filter-lined funnel. The sodium chlorite will be caught by the coffee filter.
10
Remove the coffee filter from the funnel and gently place on a wire drying rack with the side that had the salt/water mix poured on it up.
11
As the coffee filter drys, sodium chlorite crystals form. You can gently scrape the crystals from the coffee filter into a storage container
