Producing sodium chlorite at home

Here in Brazil sodium chlorite is somewhat difficult to be acquired, when it is found only sells in large quantities (60 kg), or the exorbitant price (U.S. $ 642.00 per kg). There would be a simple chemical reaction, can be done at home, that would generate chlorite?
I was reading about a reaction of the electrolysis of saturated NaCl solution, but there is controversy about the product generated in the reaction.
Another reaction mentioned is: 2 ClO2 + 2 NaOH + H2O2 → 2 H2O + O2 + NaClO2.

But to use chlorine dioxide to produce chlorite, it is best to use the CDS, is not it?

Here in Argentina, I can get it, but diluted with water at 30%... please look for diluted sodium clhlorite on
chemical labs...

Forget to tell, the cost of sodium chlorite diluted at 30% here is about 120u$s for 26Kg.
When asked for dry sodium chlorite, they said that when dry, it is not easy to handle.
So it may be the same in Brazil...

Hi Steve, i am making CDS, so easy. now that i am talking to other people with lyme (there are so many in Vermont) they look up the CDC toxicology reports and tell me that 5 ppm is supposed to be a max dose and i am making 6000 ppm and diluting it to probably hundreds of ppm.

has anyone addressed this? it's bound to have come up. there are rat studies etc. thanks

It would be wiser to purchase the sodium chlorite - you can make MMS at home, but I'm not sure that you'd even want to make sodium chlorite.

Not a recommended process if you are not a chemist with a laboratory fully equipped.

I have tried this method of making sodium chlorite crystals.

What you need to remember is to use a low voltage under 6volts 1amp. The higher the voltage the more likely you are to get sodium chlorate.

What needs to happen either during the electrolysis (or after) the extra oxygen molecule needs to be reduce, using a strong acid such as HCl.

The quantities and time required still to be determined.

It is a dangerous procedure and safety precautions must b taken.
