Hi - My husband will be starting the MMS 1000 protocol. He had Barrett's Esophagus and had to have the pre-cancer cells burned out of his esophagus. He's on a protonix type drug to stop reflux since it's the constant burning of reflux that causes the pre-cancer cells.

So I want to be careful since we don't want to cause stomach inflammation and I know the mms is very acidic.

I see where some people add baking soda to the activated mms, and this would make it more alkaline. Does this in any way lessen the effect of the mms? Or is it okay to do?

Hi Angie,

I have some info on reflux but it will take some finding - in the meantime, adding just the right proportion of baking soda will make it less acidic & definitely worth a try. That's one eighth of a teaspoon of baking soda in a 24 drop activated mix of MMS in a litre of water. Divide that by eight doses (1 per hour).

Have you tried CDS? That might be even better. Plenty of info about it elsewhere on this forum including links to Jim's latest video.

I have 3 friends that have reported their reflux problem has gone after using MMS & they used the standard protocol 1000.

Jim Humble's latest video on his JimHumbleLive You Tube channel shows you how to easily make a day's dose of CDS into a bottle of water (I think he used a soft drink bottle, but you could use a sports bottle if you wish) - It would certainly be worth the experiment.

I found some notes that might help in addition to MMS:

Nothing but apples & water for 14 days to heal the problem completely and remove toxic residues of Nexium or other medications.

Eat fermented foods, completely salivate the first bite of every meal before swallowing it, ie make it completely liquid with saliva. Sauerkraut, yogurt, milk, cheeses (white, aged & without rennets), apple cider vinegar, buttermilk. All organic & naturally fermented of course.

Fruit acids like lemons etc to get the body to create alkalinity – meat is alkaline which causes an over-production of acids to break it down & these acids cause reflux and ulceration or eating of holes in the stomach.

Honey, eggs, lemons.

Peptic ulcer treatment: Sipping 1 litre of fresh cabbage juice a day for about 10 days results in total ulcer healing.

Ginger has many benefits and these include:
• Stimulates digestion
• Combats morning sickness, motion sickness, chemotherapy and anaesthesia.
• Reduces inflammation
• Treats chest congestion, cholera, colds, diarrhea, stomach aches and nervous diseases
• Is high in preventative cancer activity.

If you find that these suggestions (excellent ones, BTW, Kevin) do not help, you may want to consider that the issue is structural. I had reflux, so bad I stopped eating at 4pm, and slept practically sitting up at night. At one point I had stomach surgery and the doc found an esophageal hernia - he fixed the hernia and the reflux was gone. I've had it again, maybe 4 or 5 times in the last 10 years, but I can point to what caused it.

Hi all,

Thanks so much for your responses.

Maybe I should have given more details, so here goes: The doctor attributes my husband's hernia and he says that he'd need to be on the med for life unless he got surgery (which the doctor didn't recommend).

We have him going on the MMS because he's got a very enlarged prostate and a psa of 5, and also he's had some growth in thyroid nodules. We also just started him on lugol's iodine.

I just need to make sure I'm not making him more troubles by irritating his esophagus.

So the baking soda won't reduce the effectiveness of the MMS?

Angie,

One other issue to consider re your husband..... and it may be a non-issue... but has he had ALL of his Mercury fillings removed from his mouth ?... if not, this may be a huge factor in him getting well.

Good point about the fillings, I agree.

Doctors will always recommend surgery and/or drugs, that's what they are trained for.

The PSA test was denounced by its founder because the readings can be misleading.

For thyroid issues, eat plenty of mushrooms.

Adding the baking soda should not reduce the effectiveness according to Dr Ron who came up with it, and I haven't heard anything to the contrary.

Hi - My husband has a mouth full of mercury and a couple root canals. I had a root canal pulled just yesterday (ouch) and after doing a lot of research I talked to him about his dental work. He got really upset and didn't want to hear it. He's not open to doing anything about that just now, but he is open to the MMS and some other supplements. I'm hoping it will work.

I'm a bit confused about Dr. Ron. I hope I'm remembering correct names, but I think I read something by Jim Humble that pretty much said Dr. Ron is full of error. Sorry to bring that up, but being new here I'm confused and not sure which of them has better directions.

I also heard from someone that said the baking soda in the mms isn't tested. I was hoping someone had direct experience or more information on using baking soda with MMS.
