I'm looking for 'UNBIASED' recommendations for an infrared sauna. It's almost impossible to find such without some kind of bias. My study took me from High Tech Health to Heavenly Heat. Is there any other company that any of you thinks I should also look into? It would be great also if any of you have had experience using one to please chime in on what your experience has been.

I think infrared sauna (heavy sweating) would be an excellent adjunct to the MMS therapy as it would reduce a great deal of burden on the liver in eliminating the pathogens killed by the MMS and therefore reduce the unpleasant side effects that can be felt during detoxification.

Thanks all for any input. :-)

Hi, Mickey. We have one, but I haven't noticed any earth shaking benefit. Sitting (or working) in the sun produces Vitamin D and is a whole lot cheaper. T shirt and shorts!

Thanks Paul for your input. I'm sorry to hear you don't notice any health benefits from your sauna. What brand do you have and how long have you used it? Do you sweat a lot in yours? The one I'm considering is a dual sauna, both infrared and a Traditional one with Finnish hot rocks. It can be used with either kind or with both. Since our air is very dry here in Colorado, I thought the Finnish rocks would bring a welcome amount of moisture to the mucus membranes. I never heard that infrared saunas supply vitamin D so you got me to go searching that one out. This is what I found;

quote; Now, back to the main question: can using an infrared sauna boost your vitamin D levels? In summary: most of your vitamin D is synthesized from sunshine - specifically, ultraviolet (UV) rays. Infrared energy is another type of radiation found in sunlight. These rays are the cause of the warmth or heat you feel while out in the sun; they are also the heat source for infrared saunas. Saunas do not contain UV rays - so while they are wonderful resource for soothing pain, detoxifying, improving skin tone, and a number of other benefits, using one won't supply you with vitamin D. end quote

Saunas work by raising your core body temp just enough to induce an artificial fever causing you to sweat out tons of toxins. Our skin is our largest organ and is vital in removing toxins. Every toxin we sweat out is one less that has to be filtered through the liver thereby reducing the load tremendously. Below are three of my major reasons for believing they are a smart investment.

1-Two of the most highly regarded sauna detox programs for the chemically injured are at the EHC-Dallas, run by Dr. William Rea, and the Nova Scotia-EHC, the clinic for Canadians diagnosed with “multiple chemical sensitivity”.

2-Dr. Sherry Rogers MD, is a Fellow of the American College of Allergy and Immunology and a Diplomate of the American Academy of Environmental Medicine, and has been in private practice for over 26 years. I've heard her say that she would get rid of her car before she'd ever get rid of her infrared sauna.

3-Below is a great very short article by 'Natural News' about Infrared Saunas;

Wishing you happiness and great health Paul! :-)

Hi , Mickey. Yes , I do perspire lots at 140f. Towels are req'd to sit on and it feels good after coming in from 30 below, but the hot tub does too.
My thoughts on detox are that the best cost:benefit ratio is found in MMS.

If you feel you'd like one, go for it! You're worth it!

Hi ,
I have a Physiotherm FIR sauna and I wouldn't be without it It is the first thing I do every morning. I do not know if you can get this brand in the US. It was the most highly recommended to me in NZ and from reliable sources. It comes with an optional UV light which I use more often in winter. It is could for my core body temp, detoxing, circulation and fabulous for my skin.

I hope this helps.

Hi Mickey,

No, IR sauna's don't benefit to vit.D. Your choice for a blend, is a good one. Then you get the best of two worlds. For me the IR doesn't work so well, I like the steam sauna best.

What brand do you have Baltoh? Does it make you sweat good? Thanks for your input.
