I'm new to MMS and am trying to find a source of the sodium chlorite. I've found a product at the local pool supply store that is 20% sodium chlorite, 8% sodium dichloroisocyanurate dihydrate, 72% inert ingredients. I've looked at the MSDS for the sodium dichloroisocyanurate dihydrate. It seems to have the same or similar applications as sodium chlorite as well as similar warnings, precautions, side effects, etc. Would this product be safe to use, and if so how, if at all, would the mixing ratios be altered. Thanks.

I would say, No!

I got mine from Amazon.com and got the "in the Swim chlorine pool" -

the verbiage was
NOTE: This item cannot be shipped to Alaska or Hawaii. If your shipping address is in Alaska or Hawaii, this item will be removed from your order.
24 - One lb bags
Dilute with water before adding to swimming pool water
68% Calcium Hypochlorite

You can get fewer than 24 one pound bags. Note it has 68% calcium hypochlorite.

All our vendors on the vendor page will have what you need - check with them - if you have a question.

Welcome, Sueann. That looks like the mixture for campers ' water purification tablets'. The sodium dichloroisocyanurate dihydrate is the activator.

The list Pam refers to is here: www.genesis2forum.org/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=10&id=7515&Itemid=66
