I would like to leave this thread related to Andreas - he is coming out with a CDS book soon, but right now is tied up in legal issues.

I've been in touch with him recently, and in our conversation he mentioned something I thought was significant for those of us making CDS using a heated reactor (i.e., putting the MMS and CA into a small jar and putting it in hot water, and running the resultant gas over to a receiver jar.)

Andreas said in his email to me:

" If you overheat ( over 60ºC) you get citric acid vapor in the mix so the ph is low and you need to buffer.
if you do it right the ph is higher mostly around 5-6. Once the bottle is closed there is no loss on short term (transport)"

That said, the only way I know to NOT overheat is to be sure to keep the water in the pan that you have placed your reactor bottle at or below 60ºC or 140ºF. You will need a thermometer to do this (I use a candy thermometer.)

For those that don't know, (there's a newsletter on this for more details www.mmsnews.is/all-newsletters/142-the-country-of-spain-attacks-mms-11-21-2012.html) - Andreas gave a technical talk on MMS, no recommendations, no sales, etc., and the police showed up at the end and caused a lot of problems.

There is a petition on Change.org, which currently has 9,000 signatures. If you have not signed and find it within yourself to do so, please go to this site:

and sign to support Andreas and MMS.

I don't understand how there is only 9000 signatures in support of Mr. Kalcher. I don't know him but I'm using the CDS as he show in his video and works fine for me. When I sign it I though thousands of peoples will do it too...just don't get how peoples can be so selfish.

I think some people are afraid to sign - they feel it's safer to be anonymous. I signed early on. After Jim Humble, Andreas is (IMHO) one of the most "doing-good-for-humanity" oriented people I know, and I value him highly.

Dear Pam,

Greetings from Bulgaria.

What's the meaning of "to buffer"? If the solution is overheated (boiling), what exactly needs to be done?

Thanks,

Gabe.

Buffering it makes it less acid. Andreas talks about buffering the solution if you're going to use it for injection or IV.

If the solution is overheated, I don't know of any way to fix it. You just have some citric acid vapors there that you do not need, and if CDS causes any discomfort, it's most likely from those vapors. What I am doing is using mine up that I overheated (can't be more acid than MMS, LOL), and will be careful in the new batches.

A scrubber will help that issue......

Could you describe a scrubber?
