It seems to me that most people seem to create their own because it's cheaper.
But there are probably people that "like to tinker", and other things like that.
People who like to "be in control", and maybe are survivalists and preppers,
might want to do it in case it becomes available "when" the SHTF.

I prefer to purchase mine so I don't accidentally make a mistake.
And it's easier rather than messing with making it.
It does cost more, of course, and if I couldn't afford it, I would most probably
"bite the bullet" and make my own.
