I have a client who has been using MMS1 and MMS2 for Lyme disease for several months now, and who recently began having some tooth pain. She went to the dentist, and he says that in the last 6 months she's lost most of the enamel off of 6 teeth, 4 of which are in the front of her mouth.

She occasionally uses an MMS1 mouthwash that I also use - 6 activated drops MMS with 1 oz. water and 12 drops DMSO.

Has anyone else heard of people losing enamel in conjunction with the use of MMS1 or MMS2?

I had one friend who is into herbs and self help medicine but not MMS and his dentist told him he had a rapid loss of enemal like that. I question this kind of claim from a dentist. Sounds like a sales opportunity for whatever solution he has. If it is based on x-rays or observations then those are subject to interpretation or manipulation even if he shows you the pictures. And if he’s got a solution to sell, then how can you trust that?

Lyme itself is pretty bad and could cause this I would think. Maybe the acid in the MMS protocol is a contributing factor, but I bet it would have happened (if it really did) even if there was no MMS.

I quit going to dentists 15 years ago so who knows what they would say about my enamel. But I do have quite a bit of experience with teeth sensitivity and tooth/jaw aches from a huge cavity going down the center of one of my rear molars. From what Jim has written I do not think activated MMS has any effect on his teeth.

But for myself and another good friend who is very pro-MMS, our teeth get sensitive from brushing with activated MMS the way Jim describes. Others have said this as well in the yahoo groups. I think it is because of the acidity still remaining in the tooth brushing protocol.

My solution to this, and I brush about 6 times a day, is to make a 1/4 teaspoon activated dose of MMS1, then add half cup of water like normal, then I add ANOTHER 1/4 tsp. of the MMS1 (without the activator) and this brings the pH up so that I can brush with it no problem. The color is still yellow and smells like it should. I keep it covered and pour some out to brush with at each brushing. My friend did this and it works for her too. You could also probably just add salt or baking soda to bring the pH back up and get the same effect.

I will also point out I still sometimes get sensitive teeth without making any changes in anything. It seems to be seasonal sometimes, comes and goes. There are probably numerous causal factors involved.

Jim has never heard of this. All of us here at the mission brush our teath with the 10 drops per ounce solution every day and several times per day with only improvements in our mouths. I think Jim uses the DMSO as well, but far fewer drops. We have never heard of tooth problems with taking MMS2 either.
